Slow Cooker Vanilla Custard

Ingredients

  • • 1/3 cup of granulated sugar
  • • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • • ½ cup of low fat milk
  • • 1 ½ cups of evaporated milk
  • • 2 egg yolks
  • • 1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste

Instructions

  1. Combine the evaporated and low fat milk in a saucepan then bring them to a simmer for 4 min on medium heat.
  2. Stir in the vanilla paste then whisk the eggs with sugar in a bowl and add to them the hot milk gradually while whisking all the time.
  3. Pour the custard in 4 ramekins and cover them with a paper foil then pour some hot water in the slow cooker and place in it the ramekins.
  4. Cover the pot and cook the custard for 1 h 45 min on high.
  5. Once the time is up, burn the custard to have a crusty top then allow them to cool down for 15 min before serving.
